I'm in the middle of installing a new sewer system. Old one is working just fine, but the environmental mafia requires a different layout. My closest neighbors are the cattle over the fence and they don't give a sh*t. At present the place looks like a war zone, craters. Got the separation chamber down today (3 metric tonne hulk). Start filling the infiltration pocket tomorrow (80 metric tonne). No time for BP exercises just now.

Looking at the 127 yard sale map and wondering what kind of BP guns and parts I might find. Knives, too. I always find some interesting old knives.

I have not found much in the way of gun parts at yard sales.   But knives have been another story.  Got some good ones that way.
Bayonets too.
Found a brand new one for the M1903 Springfield (great long sucker) and a more used one for the M1 Garand.  Others too.  Don’t know what it is with the yard sales and bayonets - but they’re a source.

Happy hunting.

Thanks! Yeah, there's one particular spot I always like to check out, because they always have old knives and usually a few guns, too. One year I got a Cattaraugus 225Q with the original sheath, complete with name and unit number, for $30.

Wecsog. If I may ask what part of the country do you live in? I'm not sure if people sell guns at yard sales here in west central Georgia. I need to start looking around, maybe I am wrong. Hope you find some interesting stuff.

North Alabama. And, I'm not sure about west central GA, but they certainly do in North GA.

It's been quiet here lately, so I thought I'd break the ice...

I took an online job working from home.
I am passing up on a better choice and a relocation package to Olathe.
Two boys (12 & 14): one is on board with the move, and one isn't.

There is a fine line between being held hostage by your kids and doing what's in their best interests.

In the last 18 months:
Lost their Mother on 2/26/23
They moved in with Auntie when I relocated on 4/23
They moved back in with me on 6/23
Lost whom we thought would be my next partner, giving them a "mom" and a brother. 7/23 (got drunk behind the wheel, and sideswiped a guard rail with my car and kid in the rig, ended it that weekend)
Their sister moved out also in 7/23
landlord sold the house, new zip code change, Nampa to Caldwell, 10/23
Dad decides to back OTR because he can't afford life; they move to Portland with their older sister on 1/24
They hate Portland, come back on 3/24
I, Dad, got a DUI ( on 1/11 and lost the CDL job I had on 4/10 when I gave notice (sentencing was supposed to be in May). Instant destitution sets in, and they go back to Portland (Mariah is stable); we relocate to Mullan on 5/24.
They arrived at my house here on 8/24 and are so happy to be home on 8/24
DUI sentencing 8/24, loss of license 8/7/24, loss of roommate who is taking me to work on 8/24. Back to no job
Remote job pops up (it's maths; I think this will be an okay choice for me) 8/27
A relocation package and a job that takes me back to my preferred and tenured career on a car lot arrives 8/30

At what point do I step back and go: "Man, they just need stability and substance; they are in a public school with a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, 1/2 mile from the house; no CRT curriculum, none of the studies will convince them it's okay to lob off their peckers, become a furry or identify as a toaster- this is probably Nirvana."

More of my town, the fireworks were a 5 figure privately funded show, here in town:

I guess that point was today, and I have elected to stay.

Wow... that's a semi-load of crap dropped in your driveway, Clyde! 24 hasn't been the best of years for me either, so far.
Anyway, hope things work out for the best and pick up for you this year. And we're always around if you need to bend an ear.

Honestly, not only did the forum need a post, it was way too quiet.  But I think I needed to look at the last 18 months "on paper," so to speak, for perspective that led to putting the breaks on this Kansas move.

(tieing into your "bend an ear" comment)

Great opportunity, sure. And a possible upwardly mobile move back to Kalispell, down the road, so we would have been westward bound again.
But I am tired of unrest; the one fighting the move the hardest has a pretty good circle of hick kids here (the best kind). We just need to pause, breathe, and enjoy this slice of Rocky Mountain-based Americana for a bit, and a bit could defined as "my last 30 years on this planet". I'm down with that.

Welp, on the topic of 'quiet', it's been pretty much crickets here; you're right on that point. But I can't make people talk if they're not of a mind to. There is still so much BP-talk in my head and learning a bit more every day...I've been spending way too much time on YouTube watching BP and BP gun videos, and dreaming that some day it will get busy around here again! Paul Harrell died.  Too bad. He really was a pro.

I’ve been alternating shooting my Pietta Colts, Remingtons and a Griswold a couple of times a week
and just mindin my own bidness.  Been using the Sheriff’s range because the trails are too dry.  It’s been real hot here. Shoot any up in the forest and you’ll burn the whole damn county down.  Waiting for some rain.

Clyde, are you eligible for a “to and from (work) clause”? Were you represented? Don’t go near a courthouse without an attorney in-tow; dead meat without one.

Yeah, G Dog, restricted rolls (the clause you mentioned) around in about a week, as far as eligibility goes. I have a few more ducks to line up, and then they'll all quack in a row, and the Judge "should" sign off on the permit.

The expense of representation cost me all functioning center-fire and black powder guns, my new Mac Mini (this Mid 15 MBPro I'm using, works, and we've been homies for 6 years; BUT... I  miss that processor of the mini and the 24 GB of RAM I had, this mid-15 is so slow on some of my photography editing maneuvers, ugh), a shmexy stainless fridge, the 65" Samsung TV I was using for a monitor, and then $2k out of pocket. The way I handled it (I refused to blow as the cop admitted I was driving perfectly; it was simply a turn signal out for the stop and some empties from 2 weeks earlier in the cargo hatch made him concerned about my sobriety) put me in the absolute worst case scenario... Don't force a blood draw in Idaho, it makes it worse, not to mention, the 2~ hours between arrest and draw allows what might not have shown on the blow, to amortize into the bloodstream...

I ended up with standard penalties and a withheld judgment, so my CDL will be unaffected in a year.

It was the most expensive blown turn signal ever... (it blinked at a normal cadence; I had no clue from the cockpit)
And a super important lesson learned.

(The frustration was that I was counting my drinks that day and "should" have been under; I aim to be responsible. The bartender, with a crush on me, poured doubles when I asked for a single Disarrono and Coffee. I was literally over the amount of two heavy pours.)

Well, sounds like you are probably the most active shooting member on the forum! Care to share any guns/target pix from your range trips, past,  present or future? I know it's a pain especially when shooting alone, but only takes a few seconds to snap a photo of a filthy bp pistóla or a Swiss Cheese target.
