Went fishing......
« on: June 08, 2015, 11:23:01 AM »
First time in a couple years. Hit one of the local rivers/lakes where my youngest boy's been going.
Didn't catch anything but it was nice to relax.
Sort of a backwater pond area here, but full of largemouth.

View from the bridge I was fishing from....

Nice,   back about 15 years ago I used to fish nearly every day.   Now when I do go once or twice a simmer I wonder why I don't get out and fish more often.   Fishing opportunities are endless here in Colorado.  Plains lakes full of Walleye, Bass, Perch, and Wipers.  Then the mountain rivers and lakes with Rainbows and Brown trout,  not to mention the big Lake trout and Kokanee Salmon in the large deep mountain Lakes.
Something for all types of anglers here.

Fishing is good for the soul.
Plus, if you feel lazy, you can throw 'em back. No harm, no foul.
Can't do that with a deer.....

My wife and I both love to fish; just haven't done any for a while. I bought 2 new Ugly Sticks and reels 2-3 years ago and haven't put any line on the spools yet! We also both have fly rods but haven't tried that yet either. Too much to do after you retire! L@J *6'

All true,  but I am one of the few fisherman who throw all of them back.   I have never eaten a fish I caught.  Love to catch em,  can't stand to eat em.

Nothing wrong with that, Mike.
I don't always even keep the 'keepers'.

When I was in construction, I kept a fly rod in my vehicle and would get a permit for each state I worked in or drove through.  When the mood would strike me, I would stop at a river or stream or pond and make a few casts.  Strictly catch and release but relaxing.  And the company paid me to fish.

Are they hiring?
