Captain's Baby Dragoon

Not really a Pocket, proper, but fits nicely IN my pocket!
Nice little Baby I purchased from Kevin (kwilfong) last spring. .31 cal, 5 shot. I have yet to fire it. I really like this thing! Kevin worked the trigger, added a new front sight and deepened the notch in the hammer.

I have yet to get me a .31 cal. Isn't the Baby Dragoon built on a Pocket model frame?
I AM the devil's advocate.

Technically, the Pocket revolvers are built on the same frame as the 31s as the 31s came first.  It wasn't until Bessemer came out with an improved methos of steel making that the larger calibers were possible on the smaller frames, ie the Pocket Navy, Pocket Police and the 1860.

CaptainKirk,

I see you have the square backed triggerguard.  Not much room behind it for the middle finger is there?!?

I have two 31s with the square guard and wish there was just a bit more room.

[(23 September, 2011)  Not the middle finer, there is no room for the trigger finger in the guard.]

No...actually, if you pull the hammer to half-cock with your finger in the trigger guard, it gets stuck... :'(

I have two of the Baby Dragoons and they both have the square guard.  No room for my trigger finger in either.  I wonder if the Wells Fargo Models have enough room?

My revolver is evidently the 3rd model with the rounded trigger guard. I have fairly large hands and no problem with the trigger finger in the guard. So the square back guard looks great, but the rounded trigger guard evidently has more room.

Not sure why that would be. My finger gets stuck between the trigger and the FRONT of the guard. ???
