Starr at a local auction
« on: September 04, 2015, 11:45:10 AM »
I took some guns to my old home-town auction place a couple of weeks ago and noticed a couple-three guns I would like to have. One is a Starr SA, there is also a Starr DA, but I would prefer the SA gun. Hope that I might be able to get one or the other for a decent price. (Yeah, right....at a gun auction?). I can only hope. Here is a video of our friend Mike B explaining and shooting the SA model.

I'd buy a Starr if I ran across one at a Price I could afford.

Always wanted a Starr (SA) Someday, I will scratch that itch. A very interesting (to me) revolver.

I am hopeful, but not overly optimistic. The way these guns have been selling (or at least the asking price!) iwill have a max bid and let it ride. Will post the bid on the morning of the auction if I am not already over my max!

Sam, the live auction isn't until the 26th, so won't know until then. So far, the Starr is sitting about $360.00 but there are over 16 days left at this time. At the time of the live auction, lots of prices go up quickly when the items are each brought up for sale. The bids now are Internet bids or phone bids.

Well, the price is below most of what I have seen on line. Good news(?) is that I ended up with BOTH Starr's. I wasn't able to go to the auction so phoned in max bids before hand. Those guns will be deducted from the money I got from selling my guns.

Well, after a couple of days where I thought my proxy bid(s) was too low, I ended up getting both the SA and DA Starr's! Also got an original '58 Remington too! In between time I had placed a bid on another Starr and darned if I didn't end up with that one too. Kinda wish I had checked earlier about my bids, but I honored my bid. Will pick up the guns from my auction house in 2 more weeks.

You must be trying to corner the market.   If you own all of them you get to set the price.
