1851 with rear sight

Came across this 1851 Navy for sale. First time I've seen one with a rear sight. Is this something that was done by a later owner or a limited run by Colt. There is still a V in the hammer.

While there were some Dragoons built with a barrel mounted rear sight, I am not sure if any 1851s were so built.

Rear sights on percussion 1851s were usually gunsmith installed. One of the cartridge conversion models - I forget which one right now - had a rear sight.

The first Richard's Mason conversions had the rear sight on the conversion ring. Later ones had it on the barrel. I would hazard a guess that that one was done in the 1870's after the last Conversion models came out.
