Does anyone have good info or pictures/drawings concerning "pin-and-ball" load-lever catches (Allbaugh "Confederate Handguns"/"The Original Confederate Colt")?
I am reading up about Leech & Rigdon/Rigdon & Ansley versions of 1851 Navy revolvers and have often come across references to their early versions using the P&B catch, but have yet to find a detailed picture/illustration of one. I am actually interested in the differences between it and the Colt-style catch (and I know Colt made at least 3 versions of his catch on the 1851 Navy due to varying dimensions: Swayze " '51 Colt Navies").
Like a hockey puck shot over the boards during an outdoor game: a little help, please.
