I definitely like the gun; lock up is tight, functions well, trigger has a short, light pull.

No paper work came with the gun, but the end label says .451 round ball and #11 caps. Does that sound about right?

I took the R&S out for a spin last week. Nothing special, just getting used to the action, etc. I do think it will shoot better than I can hold though. Also bought a conversion cylinder which arrived yesterday.

I've seen older guns take 11 better than 10

Yep, that is what I came up with also. The gun seemed to like the #11s, and the .451 round balls worked good too. I will probably use .454s next time. I put a generous amount of grease around the chamber mouth and that worked out good. No creeping forward of the balls on recoil.

What are your impressions of the R&S now that you've had it a while, Mazo?
Accuracy, function, etc?
I find my hammer cocking action to always feel a little weird at first compared to my Colt or Remmy replicas. But I seem to adapt fairly quickly. I also find the little 'roll pin' loading lever release to be a royal PITA as it seems to snag on anything that comes near it, including human epidermal tissue (I've been scratched a goodly number of times!) Your two cents?
