Precision Paper cartridges
« on: October 06, 2015, 09:35:57 PM »
Started makin precision paper carts.Measuring my balls, using a electronic powder scale measuring exactly 23.4 grains. Will load using my Rydon loader so the compression on all will be the same.If your not familiar with this perticular loader it does all at the same time, kinda cool.Want to see if the accuracy and velocity stay together. Will be using My homemade powder and balls.Load will be .450 ball and 23.4 grains of powder.I'll have to set compression after I load first cylinder. Will keep posted after I try it.It's to wet to get to my shootin spot today. There's just so much variance in using a powder measure. We'll see.

Not sure you will see much difference between weighed and measured in a revolver.  With rifle cartridges, there is a noticeable difference but I still use a scoop and slow pour.  A bit of compression and I seat the bullet.

Looking forward to reading your results.

Be sure to let us know how that Rydon loader works out too.   I mostly load on the gun but have a couple that I have to load with a press.  Curious to see how that one performs.

Ever get around to this?

Been thinking about making up some more paper cartridges with the old cigarette papers I have with my 195 grn bullets as I have several small cigar tins I could use to hold them. Wondered how many cartridges my 10 stick robusto box would hold too.
