Introduced a friend to the Navy today
« on: December 03, 2016, 05:16:12 PM »
We met at the range... to shoot rifles , and I brought the brace of 51 square backs... he shot them well and was blown away by the feel and the look of them... think I may be leading him down the path... nothing wrong w that , right?

Absolutely right.  Actually, you have done him a great service.  Imagine living one's entire life without a Navy in it. The thought is nearly too awful to even contemplate.  I hope he thanked you. In any event, well done.

What G said. Your friend will either thank you or curse you later (depending on how bad he gets bit!)  (7+"
Nice work!

No sense in not introducing them to BP.

I agree!  All that I have met, that responded to me talking about these great pieces of  F U N  history, were astonished to know they existed in such abundance as replicas etc.

I am going to take  A  L  L    of my Colts to the range for various test firing.  I am curious as to what the reactions of others will be.

Last time I was at the range with many different weapons, the Dragoon turned the most heads.  After firing it once, there were many seemingly stunned open mouthed wonderes.  The report from it was so distinct from everything else there.  Of course the smoke too!

Ooooh.  Got to rambling there.

Was that "Joaquin" that turned the heads?

In fact it was!

I just got it out from storage after being there for   f i f t e e n   years ! ! !  Loaded too!  Without doing anything except placing caps, it fired all 6 times, first time.

I rarely attend ranges, but when I do any BP revolver I’ve brought and shoot is a show stopper.  That’s one reason to avoid ranges but on the other hand it sure does spread the C&B kerygma.

Fifteen years is certainly an intra-fora temporal record.  Boy howdy dawg and sheeeit!

Fifteen years goes by in three shakes of a lamb's tail when you got a safe full of guns. Just sayin'...
