Not much better but a little.   I suppose I could have bought them that cheap back then but I wasn't thinking about guns at the time.

I doubt it. I bought the Elsie from somebody that didn't know what he had and the Lancaster was listed on gunbroker as a wall hanger because one lock didn't work and the stock was all loose and wiggly. Less than an hour after I got it the lock was working and the stock was nice and snug.

Hawg, the seller's honesty (and lack of knowledge) probably contributed a lot to your getting a deal on the gun.

got mine cheap +/- 20 yrs ago because I had to replace one lock spring with a shaved down flintlock frizzen spring  and replace a couple screws from the antique screw jug........

every single part  on this gun carries this lonely single digit serial number




If memory serves, that's a black powder only gun isn't it?

i get my brass 12 gauge hulls from MIDWAY for $25.00, for 25 of them. they are MFG, by MAGTEC, a rely great buy and you can reload them over many times, just remember to wash them after shooting them.
