Well, a big box for a tiny pistol came from Midway today.
Handsome little fella.
First time owning, or even handling, one of these so some things were new to me.
No spring on wedge. Just a solid piece, friction fit.
Barrel does not want to come off.
Everything seems to be smaller scale.
Grip compared to a Pietta '51.
And an Uberti '60.
Nice touches include serial numbering grips to gun.
And factory removal of the razor edge of casting flash on grip frame.
Stagecoach roll engraving on cylinder with spot to put the s/n.
Trigger guard has some milled out areas.
As far as I can tell nothing protrudes below the frame when cycling the action. I'm unsure purpose of milled out trigger guard. Clearance for cap fragments?
Trigger configuration.
Hand.
Hammer is obviously cast.
Tiny full cock notch.
Compare cam to a recent Uberti '60.
When cycling the action while assembled it functioned ok except a couple times it over rotated.
Maybe this roughness in bolt slot in frame is partly to blame?
If I can ever get the barrel and cylinder off I may smooth this out....
There is but one lonely safety pin which at first appears to not protrude enough to function, but it does in fact work.
All this disassembly leaves me with a monolithic frame and barrel that REALLY do not want to come apart. Some Kroil and some pondering to do...
