Thanks. The bullets are coated with lube. The paper is zig zag ultra thin. The one 44 cart that is darker was accidentally dropped into the lube. Maybe a happy accident.will see.

Very fun project. Also happy to get the picture thing figured out. Thanks for the help on this.

Next time i "roll" more carts i will post pics of my process.

I use the Johnston & Dow bullets too Ted.  I really like them in paper cartridges.   Instead of dipping the bullets I add a lube cookie on top the powder before dropping the bullet in.

What cal is your lube cookie? Have been headed towards historic with these kinda but your cookie for lube sounds interesting. It would allow a settup that would not collect grit before loading like im afraid mine will.

Ted I use a .43 Spanish punch for .44 cal cartridges and a 5/16 leather punch for .36 cal cartridges.    I punch both the lube and the card wads with the same punch.

Awsome. I will give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion and advice. Your way (even tho not historical) sounds solid as the dipped way (even tho historical) seems like it will gather dust and such unless they are kept in an air tight container.
