Hi Kirk, IMO you are going to wear out that Starr before you even get to shoot it.  )l_ )l_ )l_

Richard;
I've already cycled the action probably close to 100 times. (7+"  It's a very 'likeable' revolver...unlike some of my others that I have to really work at to like. 8)
The Starr might be sort of funny-looking compared to the open-tops, but you can tell from holding it that a lot of thought and ergonomics went into the design. For example, by looking at the grip, there's no way it should feel as good as it does in the hand...but it does. Ditto for balance. While it looks rather ungainly and frog-like compared to a Colt, it holds quite steady and is quite well balanced.
Function over form.
As a Union officer, I would have been well-pleased to be issued a Starr during the ACW.

Hi scooby, I am also interested in getting a replica Starr revolver. I emailed Pietta and asked them if they ever intend on reintroducing the Pietta Starr revolver. In less than an hour they emailed me back this reply:

"Single Action only in May"

I'm going to start saving my money. My guess is that the price point will be somewhere between $400-$550.

I will start saving my money for the Pietta Starr.

Regards,
Richard

Hi, Since we are past the date that Pietta said there would be the Starr revolver available, I emailed them and received the following reply from Pietta:

"The Starrs are not in production and we don’t know when they will be back"

What a bummer.

Regards,
Richard

Richard, they still pop up now and again on GB. Most of them priced higher than I would care to see, but still...

Wouldn't trade either that I have .DA anSA.They both work perfectly. The DA is a bit different but if you use it like it was desighned it works perfect.

Nope. Did not make it to the range even once last season. Shame on me, I know... ^j)

Hi Kirk, that sure is a shame. When you are tired of fingering the hammer, I will buy your Starr from you and supply a range report.  &\? &\? &\?
