I've already cycled the action probably close to 100 times.
It's a very 'likeable' revolver...unlike some of my others that I have to really work at to like.
The Starr might be sort of funny-looking compared to the open-tops, but you can tell from holding it that a lot of thought and ergonomics went into the design. For example, by looking at the grip, there's no way it should feel as good as it does in the hand...but it does. Ditto for balance. While it looks rather ungainly and frog-like compared to a Colt, it holds quite steady and is quite well balanced.
Function over form.
As a Union officer, I would have been well-pleased to be issued a Starr during the ACW.
