Hello everyone. My name is Bill, I recently purchased an Uberti 1847 Colt Walker, and I've only gotten as far as doing the initial cleaning of it. Didn't even take it apart to do that. I'm taking it out this weekend and shooting it, but before I do, ill rinse the barrel and cylinders down with brakleen to get residual oil out of it, and fire some caps over the cylinders. Not going to load it too hot to start with, I read you can damage them that way, something about a short shaft and barrel fitment peening the wedge or something. Anyway, I would like to know if there is someone in Arizona that you may know that would be willing to lighten my wallet, take a look at it and fix anything that may be wrong with it before I move on to heavier loads and really start enjoying what this gun was built and designed for.
I see some of you over on another board I joined for a Remington, seems to be pretty common in the gun world so nice to know this is a tight community of individuals also.
Thanks for having me here, I'm here to learn, and dive deeper into the world of black powder!
