Hi Mike, that grip sure looks great! Did you make the grip yourself, or purchase it?

Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,   Thanks.   I made the grip myself.

I've been wanting to make a few sets myself.  Those look fantastic.

I've done a few Joel.   Sometimes I think about doing more but it would be tedious as a full time job.

I'm not usually into the white grips but I like Ivory in some instances.   The knife handle is aged bone so I thought something to match would look good.  In a couple years we'll see how they look.

Scooby,    The Holly was very easy to work with.   I've worked a lot of wood and I'd say the Holly is one of the more forgiving woods I've used for small work like grips.   It's just hard enough to work with but isn't tough enough to be frustrating.

I worked to a line while sanding and checking every couple strokes.   I didn't want to have to re-blue the back strap.   If this were a Navy model with brass grip frame I would have scraped and polished the backstrap.   You can sand them to fit well but patience is required.  This set turned out good

Fantastic work! Those white handles go great against that dark leather.

very nice looking set. I have been thinking of making a set of American Holly grips, but just can't seem to find the right combination of thickness and width. Too expensive to throw 1/3 of it away!

Nice contrast and workmanship for a blue revolver.  I wish my Thuer had light color grips. (Ivory).............Jim
