Very nice looking gun! I have an offer in on a Uberti Cattleman....What is the difference between that and your Regulator?  Is the Cattleman a lower priced model? There were two of them available, one a 4-3/4" barrel and the other a 7-1/2"....I chose the 4-1/2" as I have other SAAs in longer barrel length.

Thanks Capt.  :) This handles better than it looks. Easy to cock, and smooth trigger action, and right on target. This will also handle modern ammunition besides just cowboy ammo, and shoots XTP's just as good as lead. I did a search on this gun, and from what I found, this is the most accurate to the original Colt Peacemakers that are made today.

Thanks Mazo! I'm not really that familiar with the Cattleman, but from searching the Regulator, I found that it's the most exact copy of the original Colt Peacemakers. On the top of the barrel of the Regulator it's stamped Regulator, and on the side by the ejector it's stamped American Arms, and Made in Italy, and under that is stamped Uberti. As far as the price goes, I don't know. I got this used at the gun show for $425.00, and it came with the .45 ACP cylinder.

So do I. That was the first one I saw at the gun show, and I passed by it to see what else was there. There were two more similar to it at higher prices. When I went back to see if this was still there, it was, but when I left the table again, it was in a box under my arm.   (7&

Hi Pustic, that's a beauty, I love the brass and wood grips!

This is my pony, see:

I notice that your bolt drops early, like mine. I sweated out that I had a timing issue until I saw how 1873 SAAs were set up for cowboy action and quick draw. Dropping the bolt early ensures that the cylinder won't overtravel the bolt on fast cocking.

The extra .45 ACP gives additional utility for the 1873. You sure have a beautiful revolver there.

Regards,
Richard

I did some digging around and found the following info on the CAS site...Uberti makes the Cattleman, Tri-Star imported some into the US as the Regulator, Stamped on the barrel. Supposedly come in Cattleman boxes. So, I answered my own question and maybe added a bit of trivia to the forum.
