Hi Mick, thank you. Something else one could do with the laser engraving is to do inlays. Fill the engraving with a color epoxy (black, silver, gold, etc.) and then sand the excess epoxy off and polish the surface.

Old post, but I'm wondering if you are still playing with the engraver? If so, I found a tool that may help with your idea of colored epoxy......I use it for restoring old dashboard lettering and body chrome/lettering and it works really well once paint/epoxy consistency is figured out. Just thought I'd pass it along. It really helps getting into the finer details.

It is sad.

However, I can say that the Boneyard is an amazing place. I go there quite often. I was the paint/coatings supplier to the Pima Air Museum for some time. Got to see some amazing stuff.
