Does anyone here currently own a Whitney?

There are a few I'd like to own, but the answer is no.
Have you guys ever seen this one?
I've always wondered if this was after the sale to Winchester.
There is a picture of what they called a proto type Marlin which looks like it.

Pistol is what I was thinking. I believe they are no longer in production, although I believe you can still get the Confederate Spiller & Burr version.

I don't think anybody has made a Whitney since Palmetto made them in the 70's. Pietta still makes the Spiller & Burr.

Sorry Guys,

I guess I just really love that 1888 Whitney Single Shot.
As far as the revolver goes, I've watched a number of Pallmetto's
on auction but refuse to pay so much for a low quality revolver.
I do have two Spillers, one Pietta and one DD mark imported by Navy Arms.
Palehawk Down once told me he had a deal with the people at Pietta to get some Stainless Steel Spillers,
but he has never contacted me with any more information.

Sure, and we´ll get to the story of that.
Eventually.

Nah, it´s mine alright.
Shoots rather well, have fabbed two replacement rotarys for it.

For those out there not in the loop worth of notice is tha the Whitneys do NOT take the same thread nipples as "the rest of them". Haven´t checked 100 but seems it´s 12-32UNEF.
