Hi StrawHat, that's a very nice set of 1860s.

I concur. That's a very nice group of 1860's.

How does that little snubby shoot? I have one I'm contemplating doing that to.

I like that one too Richard.

I must be the only guy that isn't bothered by the extra screws on an 1860. I mean, I don't like them aesthetically, but they don't dig into my finger. Maybe my hands are just too big for them to get me?

Hi Kevin,   nice group of '60s.   I sold a couple of mine too,  now I'm down to just 5.

It shoots remarkably well. With a two handed hold I can hit a five gallon pail better than 50% at 100 yards or a bit more. BUT, I used to shoot everyday. Today it might take me a cylinder or two to walk it into the pail.  Mostly I am shooting my N frame ACP revolvers but shooting is shooting. It all counts.

Some don’t like the stock screws. Apparently construction, sailing and the school of hard knocks have made it so I don’t even notice them. If they bother you, there are remedies.

They never bothered me either.

That's good to know. I have a .44 Navy that I'm about to take the hack saw to.

Just a suggestion, cut to +/- 5” first. If you don’t like it cut more. I had a 5” that was a dream to carry and shoot.

Thanks for the advice, I will heed it.

I cut down an old Euroarms Navy a while back, and cut it too short. I'll sneak up on this one, so I don't make the same mistake.

Yep , I cut down a Uberti to just rite at the end of the installed ejector housing and with the 5 shot cylinder, and enjoyed it very much ... then ... being a " if a bit is good, then a lot is better " kinda person, I cut it back to the beginning of the pinion and even tho it is HUGE fun, wish I still had the 5 +or- barrel length.

Go carefully and when you get that "Perfect" feel ... stop

I have got the Pietta Navy Yank snub .44 3" barrel and birdshead grip straight out of the box. It shoots SUPERBLY, very accurate. Loaded up with T7 it gives around 900fps.

Hi Dave, I like the .44 1851 Yank compared to the short barrel 1860, no stock hand scraping screws:

I see in your original post that your Navy Yank doesn't suck caps. Funny that because mine is exactly the same, it doesn't suck caps not at all never. I think because it is a very put together example.
