Manufacturer Mark Richland Arms 1858 Remington
« on: October 22, 2019, 03:56:06 PM »
Up for bid at auction is a Richland Arms 1858 Remington brasser. The seller has not shown any photos about the manufacturer except possibly this one on the cylinder.

Any info is very welcome!

Jim

MOFRA used the double diamond. Euromanufacture bought out MOFRA and used it. Euromanufacture was not Euroarms.

Hawg, you are speaking to the uninformed: me. Who/what is MOFRA?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Hawg! You are always a wealth of info concerning the older replicas.

We are both old!

An old Mainardi link from the French website http://repliquesoldwest.superforum.fr/t7403-catalogue-euromanufacture-a-mainardi-1980

I didn't see an option to translate.

That's true. If you use Chrome there is an option for translation, but I don't think it would apply catalog pages.

The pictures are still pretty persuasive insofar as how many guns Mainardi offered for sale. I will check on it tomorrow.

Richland Arms imported quite a few Remmy brassers. Most of them go dirt cheap. If they weren't abused (overcharged) they usually clean up nice (being brass) and turn out nice.

Ringo's thread originally had an option to read the catalog in Italian/French/English, but I do not see that now.

This is his first post in this thread, in English using the Google translator:

"Euromanufacture catalog - A Mainardi 1980 Empty Euromanufacture catalog - A Mainardi 1980
Message by  Ringo on Mon 28 Jul 2014 - 9:24

I just received a copy of the catalog published by Euromanufacture (A Mainardi in Brescia) in 1980 (according to my supplier).
As it is quite thick, I scan it in several times, starting from the beginning (!): The revolvers.
You will notice that the descriptions are in 3 languages (Italian, French and English), and that the Italian and French versions correspond, whereas the English text is different, and often more adapted.
If you look closely at the illustrations, you may recognize some details of the weapons that may have been sold under other brands, which would confirm the information that the production of Euromanufacture was sold to other "manufacturers", including some of the best known,

NB: to allow those who wish to record the images in good conditions, the scans are in 300ppi, and can therefore take a little time to display.

Good reading!"

Richland/Palmetto were importers of (usually) lower grade guns. Doesn't mean they won't shoot well, just that they were not highly finished and fit.

Palmetto was a manufacturer. If you ever see one with a palm tree logo that's Palmetto.
