The markings on this are very strange. On top of the barrel, it identifies it as being made by Uberti, and sold by Stoeger. It also has all the original Colt patent markings. On the side of the grip frame in tiny letters it says 38 cal. The on the underside of the barrel, near the forward end of the ejector rod housing it says 38 COLT & S&W SPEC. Date code is CN.
The hammer "safety" is a bit puzzling. If you don't know it's there, you might never notice it, and since it requires a small screwdriver to use, I'd bet it almost never gets used. It less of a safety than an off switch in case someone unauthorized gets hold of it.
