Question to those that know.
In a Rem percussion how does barrel length effect performance? I have two Euroarms Remingtons from 1974. Id like to have them altered to “sheriff” length.

I can tell you that barrel length is paramount as far as efficiency with blk powder. One of my customers is a ballistician and we (he) have talked about it extensively. He is big into B.P. handgun hunting (Walker). Metalic cartridges are much more efficient and allow a better outcome with shorter barrels.
 Just really depends on what the purpose is.  A  "Buffalo" Remie will be a better hunter, a Sheriff's Mod. will definitely handle better but not necessarily good for hunting .  .  .
