3rd Model Dragoon
« on: February 10, 2020, 06:46:37 PM »
I've had this one for a while, and somehow neglected to post it. My apologies.

This is my "Alaskan Dragoon". So called because I got it in a trade with Mark up in Alaska.

It is an ASM of 1977 vintage. I really like this one because it's a little different. Instead of the usual U.S.M.R. marked cylinder, this one has the less often seen U.S. Dragoons cylinder. It's pretty neat. It also has the earlier style latch for the lever.

My favorite is the 1860 Army. All day, every day. But I'm really becoming partial to the Dragoons. They fit my big ham hands really well, and they're fun to shoot. Now I need one of each Model.

Here it is with my 1972 vintage ASM with the shoulder stock cutouts and 3 leaf sight.

Kinda cool having a brace of these bad boys.

Thanks Steve. I intend to do just that, including a Walker. I call myself a Colt cap n' ball enthusiast, yet I don't have a Walker.

Oh the shame!  ^j)

Ah, but you are an enthusiast at that, regardless of how many pieces you have in your collection. Just keep adding them and in a few years, you will be a wondering how you ended up with so damn many revolvers!!!!!! It is all good if you don't get to feeling guilty about shooting all of them. If you do want to shoot them all regularly, you are opening a big can if worms.
I have no idea what you are talking about, Steve.
