Range toys
« on: June 03, 2020, 11:30:19 AM »
Richard posted photos of his range, gongs, etc. I am a bit envious in that he has a seemingly level range. We own 20 acres, but 11 are wooded hillside and the yard is a bit "slanted". I can get about 80-90 yards and that makes the slope less noticeable. The only gongs I have are a 10" long X 6"diameter heavy-walled pipe and a 10" plate. I made up a set of mini-silhouette targets a few years ago. I bought a pack of cardboard cut-outs and used that as a pattern. These are for 22 caliber guns as the steel is only 1/4" thick. This is the card with the animals punched out.

They look good to me Em. Did you use a plasma cutter to cut them out?

I wish! No, I used a power steel cutting band saw with the blade vertical. Good thing is the cost was almost zero, I used scrap pieces iron, had to weld 2 pieces together for the rams. Where there is a will, there is a way.
