In 1964 my brother and I were in Monterey HS Lubbock, tx. I was a time and chance to get a deer rifle. The 99 was one of the choices, but we got Remington 600 in 243. The 99 has always been on my mind. The 600s are long gone. During one of the rushes on simiauto weapons rifles and handguns I made a trade. I saw this great 99f in 243 in a Lubbock pawn shop. There was lots of business for ARs and military style pistoles. Im sure that 99 would remain untouched and un recognized in 2012. I had a Glock 40s&w I offered for trade. The manager of the arms section was rushing around to meet customer demands. He said in a hurry. Ill trade even. I got my 99.
The other is a 99c in .308 made in 1964. I got at a gun show in Abilene,tx he last couple of hours of the show from a dealer that needed a sale. Fairly modest $500. Price.
