Hard for me to say NJ!
Good of you to admit it. I'm in Cali and know the feeling.
Six, my dad was Navy too. He was a 19-year-old range finder (combat rating) on an attack transport for the Okinawa festivities beginning in April 45. He said the kamikaze boys kept him quite busy trying not to get killed.
Then theres the report of the Captain asking him personally to swim a magnetic mine over to attach to a Jap battle ship, which of course he was more than happy to do ... but thats another story.
