Traditions trapper flintlock
« on: April 13, 2020, 06:44:47 AM »
Hi, I just used some of my Trump money to buy a second Traditions Trapper flintlock pistol:

https://www.oldsouthfirearms.com/traditionstrapperpistol50caliberselecthardwoodflintlock.aspx

This will give me a matched pair of Trapper flintlock pistols. One is nice, but two are better.

Regards,
Richard

Did you get the money, or is this in anticipation? Yep, two is good! Will you be re-working it any?

Hi Emery, anticipation. I have both the Trapper flintlock and percussion pistol and must admit that they came out of the box perfect. Can't say that for most Uberti's and Pietta's.

Richard

Hi, the second Traditions Trapper flintlock pistol arrived yesterday. The pistol looks to be in perfect condition. The only difference between the two pistols is that the lock top jaw of the newer pistol is narrower than the older pistol top jaw. A 5/8" french flint was installed in the new pistol and the lock tested. Lots of sparks. The lock will be adjusted to produce a very light trigger for the double set triggers.

One is nice, but two are better.

The new pistol is the lower one in the photo.

Regards,
Richard

I say it's a good thing Richard only has two hands. He'd be a force to be reckoned with!
