Hard for me to say NJ! Born in West Virginia from there to New Hampshire. Took my name from my love of Colt Navies and my Dad was a Naval veteran who was at Pearl Harbor when it got hit. Don't know how I've missed this site till now!

Good of you to admit it.  I'm in Cali and know the feeling.

Six, my dad was Navy too.  He was a 19-year-old range finder (combat rating) on an attack transport for the Okinawa festivities beginning in April ‘45.  He said the kamikaze boys kept him quite busy trying not to get killed. 

Then there‘s the report of the Captain asking him personally to swim a magnetic mine over to attach to a Jap battle ship, which of course he was more than happy to do  ...  but that’s another story.   L@J ::)
