You've got all kinds of gems Em.

Those Rossi rifles are getting hard to find.

And the action open. This has the CYA stupid "safety". I had a Rossi '92 that was an early gun, no safety.

Hawg, I still have my blue Rossi '92, pre-safety 44-40. The one I sold was in 45 LC, sold it because I have a Uberti 73 in 45 LC.

I didn't want to sell mine but I needed money I didn't have to pay back.

Good for you Scoob. I know you will do a good job of getting it up and running. I have my dad's '94 in 32Win. Spl. that he bought new around 1950. He only used it for deer hunting, but the finish on the wood is pretty thin as it was carried in snow, rain, etc. Mechanically it is in great condition. I have thought about refinishing the wood with the Winchester oil/stainI got from you a few years ago but.....

Steve, I know you will get that one up and running just as well as the rest! Not to mention looking great...

Thanks boys. This one was built in 1907. Falls in with similar years of production for many of my original 1894s.

I dug up a 92 in 32-20 made in 1907 while metal detecting a supposed civil war site. I got it freed up but it was too far gone to do anything with.

Hawg, you do come up with some interesting finds.

I used to for sure but I haven't been digging in 12 years. This thing was way out in the woods with no houses anywhere near. No foundation stones, nothing except six graves of supposed Confederate soldiers surrounded by an old cast iron fence. I searched and searched for the butt plate but it was probably picked up by some hunter. The funny thing is it was empty and I didn't find not one spent case. Other than a few pieces of brass shotgun shells and some more modern shells and spent 30-06 cases I didn't find anything. There was supposed to have been a skirmish on the site and the soldiers were buried where they fell but I didn't find anything civil war related anywhere around.  I bent the mag tube myself when I was trying to get it freed up. My dumb ass had it on top of my open tool chest while I was working on it. Three months of soaking in kerosene did the trick.
