It would take a lot more than a barrel liner to get this thing working again and it's just not worth the expense.

Oh I could tear it down and completely rebuild it if I had the funds to do so. I'm sure it would be a good shooter if I did but it would always look like crap and wouldn't be worth the expense. It might even be possible to just tear it all down and clean it up and put it back together and shoot it which I did intend to do when I first found it. Back then I could have done it but all my free time went to running all over the place digging holes with my buddy. Now I don't have the inclination.

There is but civil war guns bring the best prices. Fully loaded ones bring more than empty ones but revolvers that only have a few rounds left with cocked hammers bring the most

Getting back to the Rossi '92s, my early rifles also had brass magazine followers. This new one came with a plastic one. Sure, it worked but it just doesn't seem right.  (jh I made a brass one!

I know it's a stretch , I was looking for a Rossi '92 for about a year but never found one that was 'reasonably' priced. I finally bought a Chiappa 1892 Takedown in 45LC privately, came with original box , manual etc - guy I bought it from said he'd only fired 10 rounds through it and then it sat in his safe. I've had it out a couple of times and I really like it.

Nice score on the 92 Retreever. Those Chiappa guns are supposed to be very nice quality. And you got it for a really great price too.

I have never seen a "live" Chiappa gun, but I know they make several different guns.

My 53 Enfield was made by Chiappa. If a gun says made by ArmiSport it's Chiappa. Armsport is an importer.
