I have been around The Kid on another forum for at least a couple of months. He seems to have quite a bit of knowledge for a young pup and has offered to tune revolvers for free. Just pay the shipping charges both ways. I have seen where a few folks are very pleased with his work and he favors coil springs instead of the Colt type flat bolt/trigger spring.
I would bet he is younger than 99% of us here on this forum. I find that very refreshing for this somewhat dying genre (agewise), considering the current crop of young folks who are only interested in AR's, AK's, Wondernines, plastic fantastics, and the latest bling for 1911's.
I, for one, would pay attention to this young man. IMO, he is the future with this hobby.
Kid, I have a special crystal ball. As you get older I can see you looking for new outlets within this hobby and would like to invite you to join The Black Powder Revolver Collector Forum. It is one of three forums sponsored by the blackpowdersmoke forums (Colt Country and The 1858 Remington forums). BPRCF is a collector forum, and does not entertain posts about loads, targets, revolver modifications, et al. It is picture and information heavy concerning mostly about replica revolvers, but original revolvers are well accepted. It is an outgrowth of what Dr. Jim L. Davis started with his Replica Percussion Revolver Collector Association (RPRCA). Since Dr. Davis passed last September, we here are striving to keep it alive. Kirk and Dave are the Admin there and Fingers and myself are Mods.
https://blackpowdersmoke.com/revolvers/index.phpConcerning all of the BP forums I am on, these three are the most genuine and easygoing of any of them.
Please consider it!
Regards,
Jim
