I carry this Gerber Gator on my hip daily. It's one of the smaller ones and without the serrated blade. It's a good sturdy daily use blade, and it holds an edge well. I also like that it's made in America. The ballistic nylon sheath that has held it for the last 25 or so years, was completely worn out. So I needed a new one.
I made it from 9oz veg tanned leather, and lined it with 6oz that I dyed black as well. It's fairly simple, with no stamping or tooling.
