This gun weighs in at 3 pounds 9 ounces as it sits. Bore measures 0.95". I think I just may have a mold close to that, will have to check. Otherwise it is gonna shoot dead C cells!

I promised pictures of the biggest mortar, so here it is, rust and all!
I went out and brought the mortar into the house today. I had "guesstimated" the weight to be 20+ pounds; well, it is definitely on the + side! (jh. It weighs 39 pounds 7 ounces just the way it is. Finished? It may weigh about 41 pounds. Time will tell.

Until I can come across a short piece of 2" pipe, I guess I will just use a heavier piece of steel across the top.

You really need a trunion plate across the bottom or recoil may split the wood.

Yeah, I was considering a way to beef that up. One thing I thought of was running a steel rod or long bolt down into that area. I would prefer a trunnion cap though, if I can find a way to make one.
