I just picked a copy of a book I was unaware existed until a member here informed me about it. The book is titled "Holstory". As the name implies it attempts to chronicle the development of gunleather from 1900 to about 1985. I haven't gotten very deep into it yet but so far it's very informative and contains lots of detailed photographs. The book sort of takes up where "Packing Iron" left off and covers some of the better known makers of the modern era such as A.W. Brill, Tom Threepersons, Arvo Ojala, and Bianchi. I am most interested in the early stuff covered in this book but I find myself skimming through the later chapters too.

So far the biggest drawback I can find is the price. $99.98 is expensive in my estimation but I'm glad I wasn't disappointed. I'll get my money out of it.
