I bought this gun a a gun show many years ago. Unfortunately over the years some mites have riddled the stock. I thought I had done them in but guess not.

I had always considered this an "Indian made" gun, but I have no idea as to the actual history. I believe the gun to be made from a converted Bess flint lock.

Looking more closely at the lock I can see faint remains of the Crown and GR stamps also.
