Michigan Man
« on: December 08, 2020, 01:15:40 PM »
Hi all,
I have an 1851 brass framed .44, a steel framed 1860, a stainless 1858, an 1858 Sheriff, and a Navy Arms SxS 12 gauge.

Looking forward to learning all I can here and seeing people's projects and problems and how they solve(d) them.

(I'd post pics but still trying to figure out how.

Welcome from the Left Coast of Washington State! I was born and raised in Detroit a long time ago. Have not been back since 1969.

Bunch of good guys here with more than commensurate knowledge.

Regards,

Jim

Welcome to Colt Country Huckle_Berry!

Look forward to seeing your shootin irons.

Do you have a photo hosting account somewhere? If so, posting pics is a breeze. We'll get you fixed up.

I used to use tinypic, but I don't want to pay to use photobucket

Don't blame you a bit. Most of us ditched Photobucket a long time ago. A lot of us are using Flickr now. It's free and works well.

Welcome to CC! Looking forward to seeing you around here.

I use imgur.com for photos I want to post. It's pretty good as far as online services go.

This is from last October.
I'll have to take some more recent ones.

case convertor
The "1851" .44 "Navy" is my favorite. I slicked up the internals, fixed the cylinder timing, and gave it a hair trigger.
The '60 still has a more deliberate pull since I intend to shoot it with my weakside. Less chance of an accidental discharge that way.

Two handed standing left handed with the '60 at 5 yards.

And right handed with the '51 at 10 yards. The last set on both of.them had about a 2-3" group around the bullseye if you look closely. Felt good getting the new '60 on target (it wants to shoot up and to the right) and getting the rust off the '51 (It shoots high) hadn't been to the range much all summer and just picked up the '60 last month.

(Shooting the target further back on the left with right hand and the one closer and on the right with my left)
Goal is to.get proficient enough to shoot accurately with both drawn.

Capt is right, you got the pic thing down pat already!

Great pics too. You've got a nice start on a collection. I say start because you'll be adding more and more, whether you want to or not!

Damn fine shooting.

Thanks! Just got the 12 gauge Monday and had a snubnosed 1860 that had been on backorder since September finally arrived today. Wife asked me if I'm going to start having a "problem"   I said "No! ... Maayyybe!"  ($!  L@J
