Really? You can use FFg in a percussion revolver like the 1851 and 1860? I never realized that. Would you use the same weight as with FFFg?

I use more of it than I do FFFG and have used more Pyrodex RS than P or real black. Same charge by volume.

I was just checking what I have. I also have the RS Pyrodex so can I use that instead of the P in my revolvers?

As do I...I should have said "measure BP charges by weight."

I have never tried RS Pyrodex, but I have used FFg in my pistols many times. It works just fine and I use the same charge as FFFg. I don't see any harm in using RS in a pistol.

For what it's worth, the Pyrodex seemed to work just fine in my Army. I am planning on shooting it all up before I shop for more powder. The gent I bought the gun from gave me 300+ Remington #10 caps some I am set for a while I think.
