I love it Sprat!! The 71/71 Open Top is my favorite cartridge gun. Followed by a converted 1860 for a close second. You have both in one gun basically. Looks great!!

I second that!

I wish I could get the Open Top conversion back that I sold a couple of years ago.

"May have"?

You don't remember?

Still in the works. It's a special gun. Carried for several years by the actor who plays Wyatt Earp in the OK Corral re-enactment. This guy is more picky than just about anyone else I know. It's been tuned, has the regular grips which are gorgeous as well as custom fit fake ivory grips. So it's a gun that has actually been fired (45 blanks) where the shootout was. I'll get his pic in costume with a signed statement about where it was used etc.

It's a bit more $$ than I want to spend, but it's definitely worth the price. I offered my Uberti 73 stainless El Patron in partial trade. I'll find out Wednesday night if it's a go. I hate to see the El Patron go.....but 73's aren't that hard to come by.....and stainless isn't really period correct.

Dave is the tall one 2nd from right......if you click on the pic a couple of times you can see him pretty well.

That is so cool. That's a dream job right there.

Having a little provenance makes the gun even cooler.

Indeed it would be. If I was a few years younger I'd be in that mix. Good bunch of guys.....They all meander to the Smoke Shop at times between shows.

Dave also does a show at the Oriental Saloon......one of the original buildings left after the fire and where Wyatt ran the gambling there...it's where he threw out Johnny Tyler. When the town was burning, the owner told the fire fighters that if they saved the building, they could have all the booze inside......they did....obviously a good incentive!

It's wonderful to be around so much great history. Being able to "dress the part" and interact with customers really is a dream job.....if you could call it that.

Thank you for the compliments

New here so. As request I will start a build thread, though not really a build. Mostly assembly required.

That's very cool. Congratulations, I hope that deal goes down for you. The photo is also cool. I haven't been to Tombstone for a few years. You've reminded me how much I like it. Last trip there, I was best man for a fiend's wedding. We dressed up in our correct duds and had a great time.

Miguel,
that's a great photo and the tall guy (Dave?) couldn't be bettered for that role.
(he reminds me of an actor that did such roles and also detective roles. Can't remeber his name though). Hope you acquire that iron.
