CCI #11 Magnum caps ?
« on: December 26, 2020, 01:28:55 PM »
I received some  CCI #11 magnum caps for Christmas. Will there be any problem using these in my  Pietta 1851 Navy and Pietta 1860 Army ? Both have the Ampco nipples on the cylinders. Somebody bought me about a 1000 of these magnums and I can't return them.

Thank you for the reply back Hawg. It's supposed to get to 40 degrees here tomorrow so I may just have to pop off a few.

Like Hawg said, they should fit aftermarket nipples just fine.

That's good to know. I was worried that because they are " magnums", that they might present other problems as well. I wanted to make sure.

No. In this case (BP revolver) it just means they burn hotter for more reliable firing on BP subs. In this case, More is Good.

Thanks again partner. That's a relief knowing those caps won't go to waste.

Forgive me for not posting earlier but shortly after these posts I got the virus and I am just finally getting around to feeling more normal but I did want to add that I am using Goex fffg powder but haven't used the CCI #11 magnum caps yet.I'm happy that I don't have anything to worry about now if I use them with the fffg. Thanks to all that posted here for me.Keep safe.

Hope your recovery continues to go smoothly.   My oldest son, his wife and all four kids are recovering from Covid also.   My son was very sick but no hospital,  his wife was weak for a couple days.  The kids barely knew they had it.

Yep, completely over that virus deal and even got my first vaccine shot at the VA on Feb 25th,although I laid in my recliner on the 26th,my birthday, because my left arm, both shoudlers, lower back, neck and left hand were hurting badly where all my arthritis is but it only lasted the one day. Must have been a reaction to the shot,is all I can figure. At least I didn't feel sick or anything like that.
