Hi, this is one of the first 3rd generation Colt SAA. The two extra cylinders are one in .45 Colt with cylinder bushing and the other is a .45 ACP cylinder that I fitted to this revolver. The original early 3rd generation .45 Colt cylinders used a pressed in base pin cylinder bushing.

This is one of my most favorite revolvers. There are a lot of 1873 clones, but you've got to love the pony.

Regards,
Richard

Here's a question for you all.....will a Uberti cylinder fit in the 2nd or 3rd generation of Colts?

Hi mazo, this is pure speculation on my part, but it may not fit since the 3rd generation Colt SAA use a different shaped hand compared to 1st and 2nd generation Colts. I understood that most all clones were copies of 2nd generation Colts.

Richard

The cylinder ratchet is different on the third gen. I dunno if it will swap between a second gen. Seems to me Colt clones are based however loosely on the first gens. More than a few have black powder frames where the cylinder is retained by a screw going diagonally into the frame from the bottom instead of the spring loaded pin of the smokeless frames.

I have one or two.

A 4¾" Uberti .32-20 in a holster I made for a 3¾" New Vaquero:

I sold this Uberti Bisley .44Spl and still regret it:

Early USPFA .45 and a late model 12/22:

USFA Rodeo II .38Spl:

USFA/Turnbull Pre-War .44Spl:

Does a New Frontier count? This one's a .45 with Belt Mt. #5 basepin, Turnbull colored hammer and Ajax stags.

Nice pics Craig.  I don't have any'73s.  I am looking at one at a local pawn shop.  It's an Uberti Cattleman 51/2" barrel with faux ivory grips and case hardened frame in .45LC.   Looks like it's been fired very little.   I want a '73 type revolver to add to my collection of 10 C&B revolvers.

Neither do I own any, but likewise, I sure enjoy looking at the ones others are privileged to own.  Thanks for the look see.  )k*
