Funny...with covid restrictions still in place in many areas, the astronomical rise of ammo and component prices (IF you can find them...and that's a big IF!) I realized the other day that shooting my pellet guns is the only shooting I've done so far in 2021. There doesn't seem to be any shortage of pellets or pellet guns that I've seen or noticed. For some of you going through the same withdrawals as I was, it might be time to consider a nice air gun to scratch the shooting itch and keep your skills at peak performance. Something worth considering, anyway.

I used my grandpas Daisy BB gun to shoot a crow out of a tree the other day. Does that count?

That is an interesting thought Kirk. These new pellet guns are very realistic as to actual models of firearms. I know several of us have the Browning Buckmark repro and a couple of repro black powder revolvers.

Problem with my Buckmark is that the accuracy isn't "all that"...somewhat inconsistent. Not sure about some of the other handgun repros out there. I was somewhat soured on the last CO2 handgun I had, as after about the 20th shot you could see the shot string begin to drop as the gas bottle pressure began to wane. My Crosman (rifle) will plug them right in there, most times making one raggety hole from a rest. I can really enjoy that kind of shooting!

Some of the inaccuracy stems from the smooth bore barrels on some of these guns, as well as the dropping CO2 pressure. I know Richard is an accuracy fanatic and he has modified a lot of his guns to be tack drivers.

I almost bought a Gamo Silent Cat a few years ago but the only sights on it was a cheesy looking scope.

On Captain's suggestion, about four years ago, I got one of those Umarex Browning Buck Marks.  The best $40.00 I air spint  Still shootin' real good and easily over two thousand rounds put through it.  Accurate, too.  It's been a heap a fun
