Sourdough
« on: June 16, 2021, 02:38:37 PM »
Gentlemen, I come to you today with a heavy heart. Our own Sourdough has passed on. Jim was my friend and I will miss him terribly.

He and I communicated very regularly outside of the board, and he had warned me a few months ago that he was sick. He didn't want it broadcast on the boards, so I kept it to myself. I spoke to his daughter today, and she is doing okay.

Jim's favorite libation was Early Times. So tonight, raise a glass to him if you can.

I'd bet money I don't have, that he's talking Dr. Davis' ear off right now.

Here he is with his buddy "Abby". He loved that cat.

I miss him already.

I'm still in shock. His input here and on many other BP forums will be sorely missed. No Early Times in the house but I'll raise a toast to him nonetheless...and he will most certainly be remembered here in Colt Country on September 21st...Colt Country "Snap-A-Cap" Day, which is only a few months away now.
Godspeed, Jim. We are thinking of you, my friend.

I had a couple dealings with Jim outside the forum.    He was an honest stand-up guy.    R.I.P.

It's so nice to see the outpouring of comments about Jim, not just here but all over the internet. He was very active on just about every black powder forum, and he is already sorely missed by everyone. We can all only hope to be as fondly remembered when our time comes.

I think Jim would be pleased and humbled to know he's being remembered in this way.
