Could you please tell me how to use the highlighting

Of course! Click and drag on the text you want highlighted (should turn blue on your screen) Then go up to the upper left hand corner above the emojis...you will see beneath the block letters B I U "change color". Simply click on the color you want your highlighted text to be.

Another approach is to open a second window of the thread you are on, and highlight and copy the thing you want to quote then past it in the text box. That will show up as a quote along with the name of the person you are quoting, which you can reply to. Like this...

Could you please tell me how to use the highlighting

And if you want to multi-quote, you can repeat the function with other quotes:

Thank you Captain Kirk it did work on the Remington site but the problem is I forgot how to make it work  :nocomment: :001_smile:

...and then your reply would go here.

Hi I am coming to this forum from the Remington 1858 forum. Good to see so many familiar names.

...and then another quote. And so on and so on.

Bottom line; every Uberti Colt ever built has a short arbor. What this means in a nutshell is that the arbor doesn't bottom out in the hole in the barrel. Every time you remove the barrel for cleaning it's getting reinstalled in a slightly different position, throwing off your POI, POA, and beating the hell out of your arbor slot, wedge and barrel lug. The fix? shim the end of the arbor until you have a positive stop, then reduce until you get .002-.005 cylinder/barrel gap and drive the wedge in tight. NOT "finger tight". Plastic mallet tight. Do a search in the search bar for short arbor and you'll turn up a bunch of threads addressing this issue. Or you can send it to Mike at Goons Gun Works and have the master fix it for you.

Other guys here can explain in depth but bottom line Uberti’s have a short arbor and they know it but refuse to address the problem. It’s recommended that the arbor be lengthened. Mike of Goonsgunworks is the resident expert 45 Dragoon is his handle. Tim

Thanks for the information, that's a little disappointing, sounds like a Pietta might be a better choice?

Overall? Hard to say. Pietta has their issues as well, but short arbor isn't one of them.
Namely:
1) Pietta does not make Dragoon or Walker repros, among others
2) Pietta loves to put stampings and warnings on their real estate
3) Pietta loves to build fantasy guns that never existed and market them as if they did
4) Pietta's repros don't necessarily mirror the original blueprints when it comes to size, etc

OTOH:
1) Pietta's finishes are equal or superior to Uberti in many cases
2) Parts are now CAM/CAD since 2002 and are pretty much a drop in fit
3) Pietta now has "repair kits" and replacement screw kits that basically cover anything you need to replace
4) Pietta is generally cheaper than a comparable Uberti.

There was a gentleman on the Remington site that gave a tutorial on how to photograph guns. It was very informative and this photo is what I came up with. This is actually a photo of the original photograph I did.

Sooty, yes, there is an art to it for sure. Backlighting is a thing that is hard to achieve with these revolvers as they are very low profile unless supported by a little dowel so they are standing instead of lying down flat if that makes sense?

Yes that makes sense. It's also difficult to eliminate shiny spots.

Sooty B. Yeah… direct hard light like florescent lights create hot spots. I find that softer warm incandescent lights or shady outdoor light is more forgiving? 👍
