Nah, no place around here to hunt. Besides I'm not really able to anymore.

I'd sure like to. They're making it increasingly hard though, with all the regulations and land closures. I can't use lead ammunition at all anymore. So if I want to bird hunt, I'll need a new shotgun that can handle steel or bismuth. My old SxS won't. Same for rifle. Gotta be "lead free" ammo. I guess that means copper. The biggest bummer is that it even goes for muzzleloaders. Try finding a lead substitute ammo for your .50 cal flintlock.

If I can overcome these hurdles, I'd love to get back to hunting next season.

My normal hunting involves traditional bows and hand made cedar arrows. Had to sit this year out due to an injury. Illinois' gun hunting rules and regs are a goat rodeo complete with clowns, so...not this year.

I'm in "super fun happy California".  Been a CA domiciliary all my life and no longer even recognize this place.  I'm the foreigner here now.

There is a bill in committee here to ban the use of lead at ... wait for it ...
shooting ranges!

Bow hunting is way cool.  My boys do that and I launch at hay bales.  Great fun and Zen like in application.  Much like shooting guns - only a little different.

I just love the Federal Subsistence regs for remote communities.. once you live in what they deem subsistence areas, you get a whole new bunch of rules for federal lands!!!! state lands have thier rules, federal have thiers... just gotta know what part of the bushes your gunna crawl through.. Federal subsistance regs are quite liberal!
