I fell in love with the Fixed Sight Model,
but they were already out of production by the time I ever knew they existed.
There was rumors about Ruger bringing them back, but I doubt that will happen.
They do bring a very good price, unfortunately I'll probably never own one.
I remember when I thought $350 was to much for a Vaquero, now look what they bring.

My brother has a ROA in stainless. It also has fixed sights instead of the big adjustable type. I really enjoy shooting it when he brings it out.

I have two of them, one with 8" barrel and the other one with a 5 1/2" barrel.

This is exactly what my brother has. Except his has a black grip on it. Very good looking revolver.

I bought my stainless ROA at the gun shop of Thomas Bland in London in 1975. It was one of the first ones manufactured in stainless steel. Even then restrictions on all handguns were severe in England, and I had to have the pistol transported to the airport where I was allowed to take it out of the country on my trip to France. The English customs officer who inspected the pistol before releasing it to me gave me a lecture on how guns were evil, they were only good for killing, and why would I want one? I pretty much ignored him but found out on my arrival in France that the Leftist creep had removed the bill of sale so I couldn't prove ownership.
French customs held the gun until I could get a replacement bill of sale from Thomas Bland.
I still have the gun, put some srag grips on her. Interesting that it has British proof marks on it like a London Colt.

Unfortunately I did not. I was young, and was simply focused on getting my revolver out of the hands of the French Custom officials. I recal how they would, with wide eyes, put tbeir fingers in the muzzle, astonished at the size of the .45 and talk of "le cowboy" 😂
I used to shoot it at the police range in Monaco. It would invariably stop all shooting, then bring laughter from the cops, and then silence when they saw the compact groups made with the gun at 25 meters. I could outscore the majority of those cops with the Ruger, much to their dismay, using 20grs of 3fg, cornmeal filler, and a greased felt wad.
