Model 1860
« on: November 23, 2021, 05:15:55 AM »
Hi All,

I don’t visit here as much as I used to.  A lot of things have changed. One of them is this,

It was given me by an old friend who bought it and fired it a few times before deciding cartridges were preferred

What is the change?  I have several other 1860 s, but this is the first Pietta.  It is so new to me I have not had a chance to compare it to my others.  I will and then post what I find.

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Kevin

Nice to see you posting Kevin.

What are your initial thoughts on Pietta, after just having handled it?

I look forward to your report after you get to fire it. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hi Strawhat.  Good to see you posting.  When you do comparatives on those Armies could you weigh them?  That may seem like a bit of arcana to most folks but probably not for this crowd.

For 1860's I just have and shoot two Piettas from the late 1990's and love those things.  Even pre-CNC Piettas run great ... after a little "attention".

Happy Thanksgiving, bud.

Happy Thanksgiving, bud…

No problem.  I have long maintained that in the 1960s, the Italians may have duplicated the revolvers they copied, but now they are producing clunky copies at best. My latest 1861s feel nothing like my original Colt 1861
