New shed/gunroom
« on: November 28, 2021, 04:18:08 AM »
We have an old house on our property. It’s an eyesore and been getting worse everyday. We’re tearing it down and burning what we can as time allows.
We’re gonna put a 12’x24’ heated /cooled shed in its place.
Will build a wall and divide it in half. She gets half and I get half.
My reloading is in a spare bedroom and has to be setup  temporary. I’m not allowed to drill holes in the cabinet top I installed for a gun/sewing bench and supposedly bore cleaner and gun oil stink.
I am super excited to get this done. I believe the old house will be completely gone as of this afternoon.
Hope to be digging footers and a ditch for power next weekend.

AR, Good morning Sir, That sounds absolutely fantastic. I am jealous. I so much want a shed to tinker in. Some day maybe. So glad you are getting to do this. The wife will be happy too. Perfect for all concerned. :big_drink_2: enjoy and God speed.

i used to be in a closet, and then out in a workshop... it was always damp and cold living in a rain forest. so I just added on the the house and stuck a woodstove in there to keep warm. took me a entire season to prepare and mill the lumber needed with a chainsaw, from harvesting the logs, getting them home and the  milling. the advantage is I can work in my underwear if I wanna and the heat off the reloading room helps heat the entire back of the house. and its connected to the rest of the house with the door being right across from my wife's office and she can hollar at me when she wants too so we still feel connected.

its made all the difference and I encourage u to Get er Done!!!!  )l_

I too am very jealous. The last 4 years, we have been apartment dwellers. I am literally working from a water heater closet. I hope to move back to a house after the first of the year. Can't wait to see how your shed turns out.

I was wondering when the safety patrol would come looking for me!  L@J

I don't keep any powder in there at all. And I actually do my reloading on my roll around bench out in the open on the patio. So we're good. No skyrockets around here!

Didn’t get as far as I wanted (never do) but made good progress. I believe next weekend it will be a done deal.

Good thinking there AR. Hillbilly! Nothing better than a tinkering shed. Looking forward to pictures when you're all through.

AR, Howdy. Hope all is well. How's that shed/gunroom project coming along? Made any more headway? Got any pics you could share with the fellas. I need some ideas myself. (7+" Thanks

Wound up working last weekend.
I worked on it all day yesterday. The old house is completely gone. We burned what we could and have a trailer load of junk to haul off this week. Going soon to look at sheds and pick the one she wants.
I’ll then start the dirt work.
Sure felt good to look out this morning and see it all gone.
