Outlaw Josey Wales movie gun
« on: January 04, 2022, 10:29:16 AM »
Stumbled across this while looking for something this morning. Thought it was very interesting. One of the actual Walkers used onscreen by Clint. Can't believe how much it went for.

https://usm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/267/lot/62620/

I was a little perturbed that the gun has been "deactivated" because it is in England. How fun would it be to pop a few .38 blanks in Josey's actual Walker?!?!

I wouldn't pay 72,500 for the privilege.

Very interesting but disheartening.  A neutered repro for a neutered nation.  The UK keeps sinking to new lows.  72.5 K?  No, I don't think so, not today.     L@J

I agree. It's way too expensive. But, if I had the money to burn I'd buy it.

It said that the firing pin had been removed. It looks like the gun has a ring on it similar to a Kirst gated conversion. I would say it's probably easy enough to replace the firing pin in it.

No way I'd own that and not shoot it. Even if it was with blanks.

I think if I had the same amount of money in the bank as Paul McCartney I wouldn't pay 72 GRAND for that......Sorry but it's a no from me.

Not only that, why "deactivate it"................In the Isles of Gloom.............The British Isles our favourite muzzle loading replica revolvers are perfectly legal to own and use.

Originals like my Colt Navy .36 made in 1852 are licence free !

It looks permanent.

Oh wow, it sure does Hawg. There is no floating firing pin. Looks like they removed the pin from the hammer. Probably just cut or ground it off. Bummer.

If you had Sir Paul's money, $72K would be pocket change. You wouldn't even miss it.

There are two things that are not permanent
1) A free meal
2) A de-activated gun

Would a new hammer and a C&B cylinder restore that piece to its factory condition?

Good question G. It certainly looks like it would be. Except for the loading channel cut into the recoil shield. But that would be purely cosmetic.

For that kind of jingle I would be able to buy a nice condition real one and a real Navy to go with it.
Do you know what Yoko Ono wanted most for the Beatles???

Just my mentality, the money I have and have had was hard earned. It's like some people who are not too far away from me paying 200€ for a bottle of fizzy wine. I just couldn't.
