Thank you for allowing to your group.  I am rather new to black powder but have experience with firearms.  Been shooting competition, hunting and reloading for over 40 years.  I retired from the military and worked civil service.  I survived cancer and during the treatments I picked up leather working to keep busy.  My leather work is terrible.  All self taught wish I had a mentor.  I got into black powder when the ammo and supplies started to dry up.  Can never be too safe.  I live in southern Indiana and plan to drive to Friendship when weather is a little better.

There are several great leatherworkers here. Ask all the questions you want, someone will step right up and help you. Same goes for anything black powder related. We have a fantastic membership here and they are ready, willing, and able to help. We hope you like it here.

welcome on here. I always like other old farts in, as I am one myself. Hope you'll find the atmosphere here welcoming and up to your taste. Why don't you start by posting some pictures of your irons and leather stuff.

Welcome to the group! I'm a self taught leather guy myself. Still not very good.....just keep it up, study others work and above all, get a copy of Packing Iron. There's a few of us here that can gladly help answering any questions that you might have.....We have a leather working section down lower on the list.

Welcome, Walking Bear! Truly glad to have you here! Hope you will make yourself at home. Sounds like you will fit right in with the gang. As was mentioned, we have a leather section here and a good number of highly talented craftsmen here on the site. Questions are always welcome, advice given freely and frequently (whether you want it or not, at times!) and you are hangin' with the friendliest, most laid-back group of BP nuts on the Interwebs!
